When kids become too old for trick-or-treating but would still like to do something fun with friends on Halloween night, a Halloween Scavenger Hunt can be the perfect solution! This one is designed to be a photo scavenger hunt- so tweens and teens can pair up into teams and take pictures on their phones- the team that collects the most pictures of the items on the list wins!
Tweens and teens just want to be on their phones all of the time! Asking them to find something else to do leads to 30 seconds of doing something else and then the hand with the phone creeps up again. My kids can’t even do their homework without the phone within reach.
But I know that the best way to get tweens and teens to engage with other humans face-to-face is to give them something specific to do! So how about a fun scavenger hunt game?
This Halloween Photo Scavenger Hunt is perfect for kids to play in teams. Divide them into groups of 2-4 kids and set them off with the list of items to find, and of course, a phone to take pictures!
Give them a time limit- and have them report back, checking off the pictures of the items they found!
You can award prizes for completing the list, funniest photos, scariest photos, etc.
What You’ll Need for Your Halloween Scavenger Hunt:
You’ll want to print off your photo scavenger hunt lists in advance, maybe put them onto a clipboard, and have some pencils on hand for checking off the items.
